For many years, I was able to do my mechanical work in a friend's workshop with his support. Now that workshop is no longer available, so I had to look for a new option, which I found at Happylab in Vienna's 2nd district. At this location, you can book a wide variety of machines and tools. In the metalworking area, I am particularly interested in the lathe and the mechanical milling machine. I have now spent many – and I mean many – days there, supplementing and optimising my lighting equipment for Photoadventure, among other things.
Another important project was adapting a micro flash device to my requirements. I presented this project at the ‘Makers Lab Night 2025’. I wrote about how this micro flash device works and the difficulties that had to be overcome in an article for the newsletter of the Microscopic Society (MGW).
